THE PROJECT

With a regional presence in northeastern New England and the Greater Boston area, Landscapers Depot sought to maximize their reach with consumer and B2B markets.

THE CHALLENGE

The company was expending most of its marketing budget on television ads, and had limited reach in the digital space. A more comprehensive program that maximized both strategies was required.

THE RESULT

By leveraging digital marketing channels alongside broadcast, the company was able to expand their brand presence, with an increased reach of 3,717% to B2B markets and an increased reach of 750% overall.

Tapping An Untapped Resource

Email marketing is a vital resource in expanding brand awareness and remaining top of mind with customers and prospects. For Landscapers Depot, they recognized this need, but did not have the internal resources to maximize their potential. We were brought on to help elevate their program and determine how email marketing, alongside other digital efforts, could grow their presence.

By leveraging their deep knowledge of their products, the industry and over twenty years of experience serving builders and landscaping professionals in the region, we were able to design an email program that brought them to the forefront for their prospective customers. We also provided education and strategy for leveraging other platforms to enhance that effort.

During the volatility of the pandemic lockdown in 2020, the digital marketing programs we instituted helped to keep the business operational, by ensuring that B2B and B2C markets were informed of product and service availability. Customer service needs, which increased dramatically during that time, were supported through ongoing communications that were established with our program.

This has been an incredible year and we are so grateful to MaryAnn and the team at 108 Degrees Digital Marketing. With the pandemic, we basically closed our doors to the public and did all business by way of phone and internet for over 3 months. With the help and expertise of 108 Degrees we were able to get out the fact that we were still servicing our customers and the COVID protocol our company was following. We were able to grow our business and thrive during this difficult time. One of the things I like best about 108 Degrees is the educational process. MaryAnn is so knowledgeable and explains what she thinks we should do and the reasoning behind her thought process. For over twenty years, Landscapers Depot has been a leading supplier of high quality wholesale and retail landscape, hardscape and masonry supplies to the New England professional and consumer markets.The company had always leveraged broadcast as their predominant method of advertising. While broadcast is a solid choice for businesses in their market, our review of that program helped them reconsider a budgetary plan that was more diverse and better suited to the markets they sought to expand.

We provided strategic guidance and worked cooperatively with their broadcast providers to ensure that the program would maximize potential. Those plans included the launch of an updated website presence, an integrated social media marketing program and a higher importance placed on search marketing, which is recognized to enhance the results of broadcast programs. This more balanced program grew their reach by double percentage points in both B2B and B2C markets, and helped with lead generation efforts.
